From and original design published in 1840 by Thomas King, 17 Gate Street, Spitalfields, London.

Thomas King produced some 15 pattern books between 1800-1851 and was also furniture maker so this chair perhaps was made by him in his workshop or by another chair maker using his design. His catalogues were distributed far and wide including America & Ireland.

An image of this chairs design is illustrated in Mr King's book A Pictorial Dictionary of 19th Century Furniture Designs Pub'd by A.C.C. "
