The Kings Fishing Rods
Ref: 12077C
Sold.
A collection of fishing rods and monogramed case owned by Samuel Leo Schuster (1830 - 1884).
His brother-in-law was Gentleman of the Bedchamber to H.R.H the Prince Of Wales, Edward VII (the eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert).
A handwritten note leads us to believe that Edward VII gifted them to his Head Keeper, Alexander McRae who worked at Urie Castle in Aberdeenshire who gifted them to Samuel's brother-in-law and then by descent to him.
Interesting history, price is for the collection as seen and as found.
Possibly some later parts interspersed among the group but I’m no fisherman.
