A pair of carved chestnut painted architectural elements.
Both vigorously carved in high relief from a single section of chestnut with remnants of the original painted decoration.
Portuguese, Porto, first quarter of the 18th century.
The sixty pieces in our collection were removed from a church in Porto prior to demolition in 1979/80, they have remained in storage since then until being rediscovered earlier this year.
