A perforated metal waste paper basket by Mathieu Matégot.
French, 1950s.
Matégot was a French designer and architect, who studied in Budapest. Whilst held captive in Germany during WWII he discovered “ritigulle” the perforated mesh used in this tray, this material became the backbone of the majority of his output.
