Giant vintage fibreglass advertising display piece, promoting the Parker Duofold Black and Pearl pen and accompanying fibreglass ink bottle. The Parker Duofold was originally launched in 1920 and relaunched in 1988 to celebrate the company's centennial. This particular model was launched in 1992 - it was the last in the line of Mark 1 Centennial pens, and harked back to the elegant style of the original 1920s pen. The Black and Pearl design was discontinued in 1995. This substantial advertising piece dates from that time, and would have been used only in the major outlets. The ink bottle has a motor mounted in the base, although we cannot confirm if it works. The pen would have been mounted in the bottle and rotated in a shop window display. Has some marks commensurate with age and use, but a stunning and rare piece for any serious collector of pens.
