The tortoise shell top has a beautifully worked brass inlaid panel “Boulle Marquetry”, that may be earlier than the base and could well have been a grand tour acquisition used as the basis for this table in the period, the mahogany cluster column supports are particularly good.
Highly original, a wonderful little thing.
