The carved, reeded and painted X frame base raised on lions paw feet with sprouting acanthus collars, central paterae joined by turned tapering stretchers.

Both carved in the round, original painted decoration with later repairs, red velvet arm rests above the supports for the fabric sling seats.

This design was used on a chair made by Morel & Hughes for George IV and a fire screen that is still in the royal collection.
