A pair of late 19th century Imari Vases with Kintsugi repairs.
Kintsugi "Golden repair" is the japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracked joints with laquer dusted with powdered gold or silver, this philosophy celebrates the repair as part of the objects history rather than a negative, these vases also have the more normally seen brass staple repair.
