Remnants of original painted decoration with the faint outline of a Greek Key motif to the backrest.

The London workshops of John Gee was listed as "Chairmaker & Turner" at No 49 Wardour Street, London from 1799, then in 1803 as "Chairmaker & Turner" to His Majesty the King.
