Major-General Gerald Brunskill CB MC (1894–1964), was a senior British army officer who served in both world wars.
First world war, Commissioned into the Royal Sussex Regiment in 1914, he fought on the Western Front and was awarded the Military Cross in 1918. His extensive personal wartime diaries and journals are preserved by the imperial war museum.
Inter war period, Re-commissioned in the Royal Ulster Rifles in 1921, attending Staff College, Camberley, and serving in Palestine and India.
Second World War: Commanded the 129th Infantry Brigade (1941–1942), served as Director of Special Weapons and Vehicles (1943–1945), and was General Officer Commanding (GOC) British Troops in Siam in 1946.
Final Postings: Served as Deputy Master-General of Ordnance and Deputy Chief of General Staff in India before retiring with the honorary rank of major-general in 1948.
